How can I configure a Monitor of a Goal to see my progress over time on the graph?

Post by AnaBi »

Let's see it on the example:

- you want to do 40 hours of homework during 60 days
- to make sure you're on track, you should set milestones and control your progress constantly
- the milestones could be: 5 hours a week (40 h / 8 weeks), so you could configure the monitor like this: monitors all tasks under this goal, success is when over the last 7 days duration sum up to at least 300 minutes
- then you see that you haven't done enough this week yet, and whenever you don't do the homework for too many days in a row, the weekly average will drop below 5h.

The monitor will be in alarm when the total time of work on the homework drops below 5 hours during the last week. Using a total gives you flexibility, so that you can skip a day, work shorter and then in turn longer on other days. The only important thing is that during 7 days you work 5 hours in summary - then you may be reasonably sure that you will achieve your total goal at the end.

At the beginning and every time the average time drops below 5 hours you will see on the day list, at the top, just below the date - a notification: "Monitoring alert in 1 of your goals".
